The
Casa Glicine is a two room apartment, sleeping 2 to 3 people over
two floors, in a traditional house recently restored, with nice
views to Lake Orta and to the great snowy mass of Monte Rosa,
the second highest mountain in the Alps, looming above the hills.The
apartment is located in the village of Vacciago which is "fascinating
in a low key sort of way", as one holidaymaker put it.The
older houses have great charm, and many holidaymakers staying
in the apartments in the village have remarked how enjoyable it
is to stroll through the narrow streets to get fresh bread and
provisions in the morning. |

It's also wonderful to stroll to the little church of Sant'Antonio
in the early evening to admire the fantastic view of the lake
and island from it's terrace. There is also a modern art collection
(the Fondazione Calderara) in the village. The owner of Casa Glicine,
runs the shop “La Bottega” in the village (only two
minutes walking from the house) You will really enjoy his wonderful
“specialità italiane”. The apartment is situated
on the first and second floor of the building. A old wistaria
decorates the balconies and in Summer offers cool and intimacy.
Upstairs, there’s a combined kitchen and living room with
a double sofa bed. The kitchen is fully furnished with oven, kettle
and microwave. Small panoramic balcony with table for eating out.
Downstairs, there’s the master bedroom with the original
parquet floor and the bathroom with a shower. Thus the apartment sleeps two to three people (there are actually enough beds for 4 places). Free public parking at 50mt. |
