LOCATION
Lake Orta appears on the program as a little sister to Lake Maggiore, a few miles west. (The map) Just outside the well-known and good main routes, but the lake is also beautiful. The coastline is dotted with towns and villages full of culture, history, medieval buildings and there is a lively program of events summer. The beautiful medieval town of Orta is on the eastern shore of the lake that faces the small island of San Giulio. Filling the city is a network of narrow streets, old houses and a wealth of history, focused on a beautiful open square with restaurants and cafes on one side and on the platform on the other hand, where you can reach ‘ island by boat.SIGHTSEEING
